Dietrich, nicknamed Dietz, is 48, married, has two daughters, and works as an engineer in Düsseldorf. Together with Volker, a musician and notorious pickpocket, he travels to Leipzig for the weekend to visit their school friend Acki, who hasn't been together for years. Volker is ill, and his mood is correspondingly low, so Dietz tries to cheer him up. Having arrived in Leipzig, however, the two are still missing one crucial piece of information: Acki's new address. While they wait for news from Acki, they kill time visiting bars and museums, and Volker can't resist stealing an antique sword from the exhibition...
